Knit a square drive @KWWF 2025

🧶💜 Calling all Knotty Hearts! 💜🧶Knit a Square 2025 has officially launched, and Knotty Habit is thrilled to be a Gauteng drop-off point for this heartwarming community initiative!
As part of the Karoo Winter Wool Festival, and coordinated by St Barnabas Church, this project brings crafters together to knit squares of love for those facing the freezing Karoo winter without shelter. 🥶🧣
🧵 Here’s how you can help:• Use double knit yarn• 4mm needles• Cast on 30 stitches• Knit 54 rows in garter stitch• Finished square should be approx. 15x15 cm
💌 Drop off your squares at Knotty Habit, Stoepmark, Knit in public day or any of our pop-ups – we’ll make sure they get safely to the festival!You can also deliver directly to the Karoo Winter Wool Market or St Barnabas Rectory.

Let’s wrap the Karoo in kindness – one square at a time 💜A wonderful part of the Karoo Winter Wool Festival has been the development of the Knit a square campaign. The squares, from Knit a square campaign, are collected at the Wool festival from all over the country and knitted into beautiful blankets and knee rugs that are giving to the local community through the St Barnabus Anglican Church.

Start your knit a square drive early this year… this weather definitely calls for snuggling next to the fire and starting a feel good community project.

‘The squares should be 15 X 15 cm when completed.

For Double Knit yarn and using 4mm needles, an approximate pattern ( as everyone’s tension is different): cast on 30 sts and garter stitch 54 rows. You are welcome to crochet squares too but the size should still be roughly 15 x15 cm.’
